They looked into things that other places just glance at or try to make a bigger deal of and charge me an arm and a leg. Japanese Auto Plus is perfect for imports but they took care of my Ford way better than most other places. We took my wife’s ’99 Lexus GS 400 in for an AC replacement. This was after having a franchise lube place diagnose that we needed one. The franchise wanted $1250 to do the job. We called another local place we’d had work done and they quoted $1578. George at Japanese Auto Plus quoted me $580-$600. After checking the Internet and finding one could, indeed, find re manufactured ACs for this range I decided to give George a try. Incidentally, he also sounded on the phone like he knew what he was doing. For example, he asked whether I was sure we really needed a replacement. How did we know it wasn’t just a bad clutch, an electrical problem, or leaky freon? He said he’d check these things first, and let us know before suggesting we spend the big bucks on a new unit. We took the car to George two days later and, true to his word, he confirmed the need for a replacement and installed one (re manufactured by Denso, the OEM for Lexus AC’s) for $591. We also had him replace the brake pads on all 4 wheels. For these he used Lexus pads and charged us 20% less than the lube place wanted. Incidentally, the lube place did not say whether they would be using genuine Lexus pads.George did all this in one day as he said he would. When we picked up the car he volunteered to show me the old parts and the uneven wear on the brakes. I always like it when someone takes the time to educate me a bit about the work they’ve done and shows me proof that they’ve done it! I have never used Jap.

George is very fair and honest. He wont fix it unless its broken or ready to break. He has repaired many cars for me. I drive all the way from encinitas to have him work on my cars because I trust him!!!

George and his staff are the best and most economical repair shop I ever seen. They really know their stuff only using the best OEM and name brands like denso, NGK (not cheap stuff at Autozone etc..). He is honest, truthful, fair and his repair cost are very reasonable.
